Currently, the ancient form of the name is given a Latin-Alphabet transcription which reflects the ancient pronunciation of the name (and which is also much more common in English), while the modern Greek form is given a transcription reflecting modern Greek pronunciation. Not sure why that should change... AnonMoos (talk) 00:54, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody add the Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Saba, and St. Eustatius)? The French Overseas Departments are included, and the Caribbean Netherlands is in a similar position. Spaceexplorerer(talk) 05:09, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled on this page. It's well out of my core competency as an editor, but I think the native demonyms would logically fit on this page. (For instance, according to Google Translate, the Spanish word for Spaniard is Espanhola). I don't know the word for that word (exodemonym?) so I'm having difficulty searching to see if there is a database that would give easy access to a list Nacoran (talk) 06:29, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comoros country endonym (Arabic)

[edit]

Please make the following change to the Arabic transliteration:

Juzur al-Qamar
+
Juzur al-Qumur

This is according to Union of the Comoros transliteration (Jamhuriyat al-Qumur al-Muttaḥida) and the Arabic [1] diacritics (جزر القُمُر). MalakW.11517 (talk) 12:39, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Czechia

[edit]

Shouldn't Czech Republic being called Czechia too in English? I mean, both names could be written. Italian.scientist.99 (talk) 09:50, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Phonetic transcription

[edit]

Even though it would be a difficult task, adding the IPA transcription at the native names would be helpful. Italian.scientist.99 (talk) 09:56, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tajikistan

[edit]

In Tojikistan-Тоҷикистон the Cyrillic form should be transcribed as Tojikiston. Italian.scientist.99 (talk) 10:11, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. I believe the exonym of the country has been Türkiye since several years ago according to the demand by Turkish President. Aminabzz (talk) 14:30, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistan

[edit]

Hi. Pakistan also needs the Urdu alphabet which is the official alphabet of the country. They use Arabic alphabet very rarely. Aminabzz (talk) 14:31, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The Arabic form is أسمرة. Not أسمرا. Aminabzz (talk) 14:38, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
