Avoiding original research

[edit]

Please do not base assumptions off of court filings, as you did on 2K Czech and related articles, as this constitutes original research. For example, Take-Two Interactive, the holding company, announced the completion of the acquisition in January 2008, as is covered by several reliable sources on 2K Czech's article. Assuming that the acquisition had been completed in December 2007 because the legal position of an affiliated company had changed then is not a proper source for the change's finalization. Also note that 2K Czech became a subsidiary-by-management of 2K Games, not Kush Games, which is another subsidiary of the same company. This corporate management structure is also documented in several of the cited sources. Referencing your edit from yesterday, where you claimed that Kush Games' ownership was still ongoing; Kush Games (aka 2K Los Angeles) shut down in 2008, its legal entity being the only remnant, so claiming that company still existed through 10 years of inactivity just because it is the legal parent of another since-disestablished company is not a good argument. When inserting or updating content in articles, please use reliable, secondary sources instead of court filings. Lordtobi () 21:01, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, it took me some time to understand what "defunct = End date|df=yes|2017" means. Regarding the date of acquisition, I made the change after reading the following sentence in FORM 10-K of T2 for the fiscal year ended October 31, 2008 (page 77): In December 2007, we acquired all of the outstanding capital stock of 2K Czech, formerly known as Illusion Softworks... Arnika (NGO) site

[edit]

Hi @JanSuchy (Dobrý den :-)), thank you for your thanks. However Jamiebuba moved that article into waiting mode (AfC) what is a bit discouraging, I have to say because I spent many hours on finding references etc. Can you suggest any way forward? What to change in Draft:Arnika (NGO) in order to get it ready for English wikipedia? I found sevaral references which have more than one para about Arnika but it does not seem to be enough. Můžeme samozřejmě klidně komunikovat i česky, případně po mailu. Líbí se mi témata, která jste zpracoval. Držím palce! ... a obdivuji odolnost :-). FurtKofein (talk) 18:44, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FurtKofein, I do not have any suggestions. I was looking for sources regarding Arnika stance on mercury cell electrolysis but found only press releases and news articles copy-pasting these press releases. JanSuchy (talk) 17:31, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JanSuchy, thank you for that. I used a different keywords at scholar.google.com and found quite good ones. So, I hope this issue will be solved. It will still take some time to work it out as I don't have only wikipedia :-). Let see. Thank you for help anyway. FurtKofein (talk) 20:08, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JanSuchy, I think I have almost finished revision of the draft article. However being rather new on Wikipedia, I am not sure about its "tone", if it is enough encyclopedic mode or not and also if it is O.K. to have that number and type of references. May I ask you to have a look and suggest any changes or so? This is a link: Draft:Arnika (NGO). Thank you in advance. FurtKofein (talk) 21:14, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi FurtKofein, I have opened annual report 2022 and read the financial part, as there are three legal entities and many projects, I was not sure how to summarize the content in one or two sentences. Regards --JanSuchy (talk) 13:57, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JanSuchy, yes, I know. I had similar problem, to I left part on financing as it is not needed at this stage, I believe. Also, annual report 2022 would not reflect situation 10 years ago and probably would be considered as reliable source for wikipedia. Thank you for checking that. FurtKofein (talk) 19:11, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for mistakes in my English, here is the correction: ..., so I left part ... and in later text I wanted to say, that annual report probably would NOT be considered as reliable source of information for wikipedia. FurtKofein (talk) 19:13, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
