[edit]Sheruji, I really appreciate the work you're doing on this article! But I was wondering, why did you remove "He also reportedly mentioned the World Trade Center specifically"? Is this unsupported? – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 13:37, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- I removed it simply because it sounds unsupported, the way it's tagged after a direct quote, and also was in with the other lines after it ("There were lots of warnings about September 11th and that they were targetting the WTC, but the FBI didn't act on it" or something), which seemed a tad conspiratorial. I'm going to be focusing on these articles over the next week or two (Especially Hamza, my gosh, how little information is had on him, poor guy :Þ), so I figure we're probably bound to run across the direct quote myself, and then we can actually decide on veracity/context/wording. But that's just my reasoning for taking it out, to prove it wasn't accidental or malicious, if you think it works better in, by all means go ahead, it wasn't a huge deal to me. Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 16:20, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- Agree with Sherurcij, there is no need for that quote. AdjustShift (talk) 09:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Question
[edit]My German is horrible, but doesn't the first line of this site say "This photo of Marwan al-Shehhi"? That's certainly not an image I recognise, although it does at least bear a resemblance to him. (Better than half the photos of these guys it seems, lol), particularly to our "undated" photograph of him in white. Anybody able to put that page in context for me? Sherurcij (talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject) 08:17, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yes it does say it's a photo of Marwan al-Shehhi. Using Babelfish, the text says:
- The photo of Marwan al-Shehhi, with which it announced itself for Goethe-Institut in Bonn, points the dreamed young man with slope to luxury cars and luxury dresses, when friends describe it later the police. An inconspicuous and calm student, until it meets in Hamburg on Mohammed Atta.
- So the page claims the photo is of Marwan. – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 16:41, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Attack
[edit]After the attacks, it is reported that Marwan got in an argument with an unnamed person over a parking spot at the airport. A lack of detail makes the story suspicious.[1]
Source doesn't work. --Sloane 12:23, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Well I am a good source for I met and hung out and even stayed at the house they lived in whilst in Virginia beach. I could tell you some interesting stories about the two. Al-Shehhi known to me and friends as James the Bodyuard, and atti the man who was a mystery man "james" worked for. Let me know if you'd like to hear my story sometime. I still have the pack of cigs in arabic he gave me. Empty but from him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.50.66.251 (talk) 09:46, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hm, you're right. Not only that, but cooperativeresearch.org no longer discusses any possible activity of al-Shehhi after the attacks. I guess it really is unsourced, and I apologize for telling you otherwise. – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 12:34, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. --Sloane 12:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I remember the article appearing in the newspaper, and being hosted on cooperativeresearch (which FYI, changes its urls a lot, v. annoying). Anyhow, I think this conflict might based on poor wording of the sentence. It was reported after the attacks, that he had gotten in an argument over a parking space with some guy - the argument was obviously just before the flight left. It isn't meant to add any form of credence to "omg, he's alive in Paris sipping martinis!", it's meant to help colour in the details of the day of the flight. I suggest it be re-added, but also reworded? Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 14:30, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- If you find a good source, you can add it again. --Sloane 14:43, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Source needed.
[edit]"It was well known throughout the arab world that Marwan was a failure with women." Um, source? Coolgamer 20:25, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think that's vandalism - an attempt at humor. – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 22:17, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's a funny vandalism! AdjustShift (talk) 18:40, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

GA review — delisted
[edit]In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of October 2, 2007, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.
Ruslik 09:13, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
The reasons:
1) Lack of inline citations. Article makes a lot of claims without refering to any sources;
2) The lead is too short. It should contain at least 2-3 paragraphs;
3) Timeline should be moved into a separate article.

Timeline in the United States section
[edit]I think it would be best if this section was just removed, since it's just a quick summary of the whole article, which isn't encouraged on Wikipedia. The timelines don't feature on other 9/11 hijacker's pages either. John Cengiz talk 04:17, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
